When the Kettles do the town, it's done for! Once again, those lovable hillbillies "Ma and Pa Kettle" (Marjorie Main, Percy Kilbride) hit the jackpot. In their last film, Pa won a modern home. This time, it's a trip to New York City. Ready 'n' rarin' to go, they seek a babysitter for their 15 kids and come up with Mike (Charles McGraw), a mobster in search of a hideout who claims to be a poet in need of solitude. The Kettles agree to deliver an empty bag to Mike's "brother" in New York...it contains $100,000 in loot! With mobsters trailing Pa and police trailing mobsters, the excitement reaches new heights of hilarity. Meanwhile, back on the farm, mobster Mike discovers that life in the slammer is paradise compared to a day with the Kettle kids! In this highly entertaining story, the Kettles are in fine form as they encounter and react to life in the big city. Whether it's Ma creating havoc at a swank beauty salon or Pa upsetting animals at the zoo, they make their hilarious mark, and New York will never be the same.

Ma And Pa Kettle (Marjorie Main, Percy Kilbride) have their hands full in the third of their series of hit comedies. After winning a contest yields them a hot time in New York, they return to the sticks hoping for tranquility. But their eldest son (Richard Long) and his wife (Meg Randall) have a baby, making the Kettles, along with their in-law counterparts, grandparents. These proper Bostonians have strong ideas about child-rearing, beginning with, to Ma's horror, a nurse and face masks. It's more than Ma and Pa can take, and they leave their disrupted modern home (also won in a contest!) and move back to their shack on the farm. But there's no peace there either. When Pa, digging a new well, hits what appears to be uranium, two crooks arrive to hoodwink him out of it, and another battle is on. With Pa radioactive and Ma fighting in-laws and maternal instincts, home sweet home just ain't what it used to be. Main and Kilbride shine, while fast-paced action - from jalopy chases to special effects - keeps the corn-fed humor rolling.
